Cantucci

Traditional Italian almond biscuits, double baked for an extra crispy texture, ideal for dipping in coffee or sweet wine.

Cantucci are perhaps the most famous cookies in Italy. Its secret lies in the double baking technique: first the dough is cooked in the form of a loaf and then it is cut into slices that are baked again until they are perfectly dry and crispy. Made with a generous amount of whole roasted almonds and a touch of honey and vanilla, these sweets offer a rustic and authentic flavor. Due to their characteristic firmness, it is traditional to serve them at the end of the meal to be dipped in a sweet wine (such as Vin Santo) or to accompany an espresso coffee, allowing the sponge cake to absorb the aromas of the drink without falling apart.
